TRADE WASTE TREATMENT

Trade Waste is a term used by the water authorities for industrial wastewater being discharged to the sewer system in most cases and to rivers and creeks in others.

K2 Corporation Pty Ltd can offer services to advise of waste minimization and treat trade waste and wastewater at factory sites using systems either purchased by your company or by K2 providing a build and operate service (if required to allow the wastewater to be discharged to the sewer system in specification and in many cases reducing the wastewater disposal cost to below acceptable levels levelled by the water authority).

System costs can be reduced over short periods and in many cases, for turn key plants, from 18 months to three years, allowing for the waste charges to be recovered.

Many wastewater treatment plants produce sludge resulting from the treatment process. This also has a cost component to dispose of and with land fill secure sites for disposal of toxic and intractable waste solids, and the cost of waste services removal, this is becoming prohibitive. The cost of trade waste disposal is high in liquid form as this material then has to go through the same dewatering treatment at the waste contractor's site. In many cases, after the waste is watered down, the material from your site needs to be vacuumed into the tanker.

K2 Corporation Pty Ltd has a range of trade waste treatment services to suit most industrial and mining applications from the Plate and Frame style filter presses in the simplest form through to fully automated units with self discharge, plate shaking and washing etc. These sludge dewatering units are fully programmable to allow independent operation and are to the highest safety standards of operation.

Belt press dewatering systems of all sizes and standards from fully stainless steel to heavy section steel coated designs with 5 rollers through to 7 rollers designs, with secondary pressure zone types if a higher degree of dryness is required.

Pre-dewatering drum designs to minimise trade waste water volume and maximize sludge to the belt to allow the size of the press to be minimised. Gravity deck type units with up-front flocculation tanks and mixers for the more difficult sludge types allow polymer to be introduced just before the belt to maximize the sludge integrity for maximum dewatering.
