SLUDGE DEWATERING

BELT FILTER PRESSES / CHAMBER FILTER PRESSES

If you are disposing of liquid sludges, then there is a reasonable chance more than 97% of waste is water. Sludge dewatering of the waste can often prove to be one of the most economical investments industry can make. Payback periods generally do not exceed beyond 12 months and in many cases can be considerably less.

K2 manufactures and supplies a full range of 'Belt Filter Presses' and 'Chamber Filter Presses' covering nearly all sludge dewatering applications. With many years of experience in sludge and slurry dewatering, we are able to offer appropiate advice on the correct selection of either Belt or Chamber Presses.

K2's Belt Filter Presses are available in a range of sizes and specifcations to suit most applications and budgets, and all Belt Filters Presses are fabricated in stainless steel, designed to last. Chamber Filter Presses offer the quality of German manufactured plates and European or local cloths. With a wide range of plate sizes, manual through to fully automated models, our sludge dewatering products are an ideal choice for many industrial applications.

Benefits of Sludge Dewatering:

Sludge Dewatering is a process of thickening sludges and slurries. Without mechanical dewatering, many slurries which are produced directly from industry, waste and water treatment plants must be disposed of as a liquid waste.

When liquid slurries are disposed of, they generally contain no more then 2-3% solids. Inevitably, this means that you are paying to remove and transport water.

By investing in dewatering equipment it is virtually guaranteed that off-site waste disposal costs will be significantly reduced and the sludge dewatering system will be paying for itself within a very short period of time.

The sludge produced from the dewatering plant is usually suitable for disposal at landfill sites at a considerably lower cost per ton than liquid waste. Some industrial waste filter cakes may however require special consideration.

Belt Filter Press & Chamber Filter Press applications include:

  • Bio-Solids
  • Industrial Waste
  • Anerobic Sludge
  • Construction Waste
  • Waste Activated Sludge
  • DAF & Clarifier Sludge
  • Mining & Tunneling Waste
